Clarence Wilson Summerlin, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at College Pines Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Caldwell County on December 24, 1933, to the late Carlyle and Rebecca Greene Summerlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lois Smith Summerlin; sons, Douglas Summerlin, and Darrell Summerlin; daughter, Darlene Summerlin; brothers, Fate, Curtis, Arthur, and Dallas Summerlin; sisters, Ruth Keller, Stella Williams, Charlotte McCrary, and Gladys Hollar. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Debra Prevette and husband, Jimmy; Devonda Almond and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, April Summerlin King and husband, Grante; Bethany Almond Sharpe and husband, Daniel; Jonathan Almond; Cally Summerlin Greene and Cara Summerlin; great-grandchildren, Kevin Soine and Garrett Sharpe. A private service was held for Clarence on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Evans Funeral Service with his burial immediately following at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
