Lenoir, NC- Mr. Clarence L. Holman, age 84, of Lenoir, took his place in heaven on Thursday, June 18, 2010 at the Shaire Center. Clarence was born April 11, 1926 to the late Franklin and Lillie Helton Holman in Lenoir, NC. He was retired from Bernhardt Furniture. Until his illness he was an active member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church. He was a loving husband for 61 years, a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Prior to his illness, Clarence enjoyed a life of serving the Lord, spending time with his family, and camping. He started the worship services at Green Mountain Park and served as the Chaplin to the campers for many years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Erskine McDonald, seven brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Estelle Kaylor Holman; one daughter, Dianne Nuckles and husband James of Colfax; one grandson, Brandon Rumple and wife Tina of Kernersville; one great-grandson, Ryan Rumple of Kernersville and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Clarence?s life will be held 7:00 PM Monday, June 21, 2010 at Mountain Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Clifton Black, Reverend Jimmy Duffey and Reverend Steve Butler officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Mountain Grove Baptist Church.
