Clara Beach Jones

Clara Beach Jones, 81, of Hudson, North Carolina passed away on December 3, 2021 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare in Lenoir. Clara was born on May 24, 1940 in Watauga County to the late Brodie Marion and Marie Bryan Beach. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Whitley Jones; sisters, Wilma Lowrance and Christine Beach; brothers, Norman Beach and Rex Beach. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Doug Main and wife Rachel of Granite Falls NC; daughter, Anita Main Dyson of Hudson NC; grandchildren, Caroline Clabaugh and husband Paxton, Ben Main and Whitley Main; sister-in-law, Mollie Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews. Clara worked for Broyhill Furniture for more than forty years and was an avid reader. She was a faithful member of Hudson First Baptist Church. She was fully devoted to the Ruth Sunday School Class, the W.H.O. group and the Senior Citizens Ministry group. Clara sang in the choir, helped with Mission Friends, packed shoe boxes for Samaritans Purse, and volunteered her time for many outreach projects for the church. She also volunteered at the Senior Center in Lenoir and Caldwell UNC Healthcare for more than ten years. Clara had a great love for her neighbors and enjoyed spending time with them. A 11:00AM graveside service to honor Clara Beach Jones will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. Rev. Mack Jarvis will be officiating the service. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hudson First Baptist Church Library or Shoebox Ministry. Memorials can be mailed to 345 Main Street, Hudson NC 28638.
