Christine Wilson

Hickory- Mrs. Viola Christine Wootton Wilson, age 92, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Trinity Ridge in Hickory. Born July 4, 1924 in Lynchburg, VA, Christine was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Mary Wootton. She was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church and had worked as a teacher for 25 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth G. Wilson; and a grandson, Kenneth Turner. Survivors include two daughters, Audrey Wilson of Hickory and Deborah Wilson of Radford, VA; her grandchildren, Andrew Pierce (wife Angie) of Bowie, MD, Mary Edwards (husband Dustin) of Conover, and Daniel Turner (wife Ashley) of Maiden; her great grandchildren, Amanda Elder, Ashley Turner, Faith Bradshaw, Cayleb Turner, Addyson Edwards, Parker Edwards and Oliver Pierce; one great grandchild, Abigail Elder; and numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Christine’s life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:30 at the Miller Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Parvette and Reverend Steve Walsh officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Miller Hill Baptist Church, Lenoir, NC from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
