Cherry Phyllis Robbins

Ms. Cherry Phyllis Robbins, age 71, of Hudson, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 5, 2022 at her residence. Cherry was born on December 15, 1950 in Caldwell County to her late parents, Ernest Wayne Robbins and Edith Coffey Robbins. In addition to her parents, Cherry is preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Milton Robbins, a niece, Lisa Renee Herman, a nephew, Charles Matthew Robbins and brother in law, George Lewis Hicks. Cherry is survived by her daughters, Christy Robbins Helderman and husband, Rev. Chris Helderman of Hickory, NC and Mia Robbins Carlton and husband, Jason Scott Carlton of Hudson, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren who were the absolute greatest joy in her life, Tanner Dean Penley (Emma Cotter), Kodey Todd Penley (Emma Steele), Maggie Lilith Helderman, and Eli Joseph Carlton, a great-granddaughter, Emery Lynn Delay, and her special friend “Willow”. Her three best friends and sisters also surviving, Carolyn R. Hicks, Donna R. Herman and husband Riley, and Lynn R. Roberts and husband Joe as well as brother Bobby Robbins and wife Debbie. Cherry was also survived by many nephews and nieces whom she loved and adored dearly. Cherry was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church of Hudson, NC which she loved and cherished her church family and Sunday School class. Cherry was a beautiful and selfless soul, always putting others before herself, especially her family. She had a beautiful smile that would brighten any room she walked into. She spent her life making sure her girls and grandchildren were always taken care of and made to feel special. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 @ 11:00 am at Center Grove Baptist Church, Hudson, NC, conducted by Rev. Chris Helderman. A receiving of friends and family will be held from 10:00 am-11:00 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amorem Hospice of Caldwell. The family would like to express their gratitude and special appreciation to Amorem Hospice of Caldwell County and Hope Women’s Cancer Center of Asheville for all the care given to Ms. Robbins and her family.
