Charlie Andrew Dellinger

Lenoir, NC – Mr. Charlie “Andy” Andrew Dellinger, age 67, of Lenoir, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Banner Elk. Born August 14, 1944 in Caldwell County, Charlie was a son of the late, Charles H. and Alma Sparks Dellinger. Charlie was a member of the Abundant Life Tabernacle Church. He enjoyed working on cars, and will be remembered as a body shop man and a skilled mechanic. He was also a finish carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Henry Dellinger, Standford Eugene Dellinger; and sisters, Mattie Sue McNeil and Barbara Ann Greene. Survivors include his son, Robert Eugene Dellinger; sisters, Delia Mae Martin, Emma Jean Howell, Rosa Lee Day, Louise Branch and Mildred Summerlin; brothers, Jack Dellinger and Paul Dellinger; one granddaughter, Kelly Bumgarner; one great grandson and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Abundant Life Tabernacle at 11:00 AM with Pastor David McNeil officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service and Crematory on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
