Charles Douglas Wiggins

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Charles Douglas Wiggins, age 67, of Wendwood Drive, went to be with our Lord, Friday, March 31, 2006. Born April 22, 1938 in Bryson City, NC, he was a son of the late Rosalie Barfield and the wife of Reba Reed Wiggins of the home. Mr. Wiggins was retired from Allied Financial Services and had worked in the loan business for 47 years. He was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former member of the Statesville Lions Club. Mr. Wiggins was a former member and president of Iredell Fish and Game Club and a current member of Happy Valley Ruritan Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He loved to spend time with his family, church family and friends whom he loved dearly. Surviving other than his wife are two daughters, Marie Martin and husband Barry of Stony Point; Nicki Blevins and husband Aaron of Lenoir, a special niece, Christine Mitchell and husband Mike of Statesville; two brothers, John Wiggins and wife Peggy of Monroe, Bill Wiggins and wife Carol of Gaffney, SC; two sisters, Marsha Wright and Pat Lunsford and husband Tommy all of Gastonia, two grandchildren, Bobby Martin of Raleigh, Brandon Martin of Charlotte and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobby Martin, Brandon Martin, Matthew Mitchell, Robert Martin, Zachary Martin, Lynn Blair and Baxter Decker. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Swanson, Jay Suddreth and Lindsey Blair.Funeral services for Mr. Wiggins will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2006 at Yadkin Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Livingston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Yadkin Baptist Church Monday prior to the service from 11:30 until 1:30. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials being made to Yadkin Baptist Church, 2044 Roby Martin Road, Patterson, NC 28661.
