Obituary for Charles Timothy Smith

A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to all he met, we regretfully announce the sudden passing of Charles Timothy Smith age 62 of Granite Falls NC on June 20, 2024. Tim was born in Burke County on April 12, 1962, to the late James Conway Smith, and Anna Dean Spicer Smith. He was currently employed with Stiles Machinery and had served them diligently since 2008 as a Field Service Representative in the Southeast region. He was regarded as a hard worker who was well respected within his field.

Tim was a 1980 graduate of South Caldwell High School playing and lettering in football and baseball. His love of sports continued well into his later years enjoying golfing, hunting, fishing, and hiking. After graduation, he attended Caldwell Community College and finished with an Associate degree in Design and Technology. Later he attended Catawba Valley Community College earning another degree in Electronics and Design.

Tim was a devout Christian and attended Hudson First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Robertson Life Group. He served his church well and volunteered whenever he was needed or asked. His love of the Lord was evident in every aspect of his life.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Anna Dean Smith, his wife of 37 years Debra Kaylor Smith, sons Charles “Logan” and Carter “Landon” Smith (Abby Ashe). Also, brothers James “Terry” Smith (Tracy), and William “Chris” Smith (Kim), and sister Elizabeth “Beth” Austin (Martin Webb).

Services will be Thursday June 27, 2024, in the Hudson First Baptist Life Center. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a celebration of life will begin at 3:00 p.m. Evans Funeral Home will be assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
