Reverend Charles Lindberg Perry, age 90, of Granite Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation in Granite Falls. Born June 25, 1928 in Transylvania county, NC, Charles was the son of the late Milas Theodore and LaRue Wilson Perry.Charles had served as a pastor for over 50 years in our area.He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea.In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Willow Mae Perry; a grandson, Adam W. Klutz; a son in law, William J. Klutz; and four sisters, Frankie Smith, Inez Palmer, Ruth Miller and Helen Laughter. Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Klutz Perry (husband Gregory) of Granite Falls; a son, David Charles Perry (wife Jill) of Forest City; his grandchildren, Jordan Waters, Jeremiah Perry and Katie Biddle; he is also survived by three great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Union Baptist Church, 4595 Union Baptist Road, Lenoir, NC,at 4:00 PM with Rev. Mark Robinette and Rev. Clay Earle officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the church. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.evansfuneralservice.com.
