Lenoir, NC – Charles Reeves Clark, age 88, of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born September 24, 1924 in Lincoln County, Charles was a son of the late Greenlee William and Bertha Teague Clark. Charles graduated from Collettsville High School and served in WWII. He was a tail gunner on a B17 for the “First over Germany†8th Air Force. He was a licensed plumbing and heating contractor, former co-owner of Mooney Plumbing and Heating, and retired employee for Bernhardt Central maintenance. He was one of the founding members of Lenoir VFW and member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Mann Clark, second wife, Dorothy Craig Clark; his brothers, William Eugene Clark and James Monroe Clark; and sister, Virginia Goolsby. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Loretta Younce Clark; his children, Brenda Berry, Charlene Clark, husband Larry Bailey, and Ron Clark, wife Susan; stepchildren, Rossanne  Annas, husband Eddie, and Sanford Younce, Jr., wife Lynn; a sister, Janice Moore; a brother, Robert Clark; he is also survived by 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A graveside celebration of Charles life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Whitnel First Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Charles Brawley officiating.   In case of inclement weather, the service will be held inside the Whitnel First Baptist Church. A reception will follow the service at St. James Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to College Avenue Baptist Church or St. James Episcopal Church Backpack Ministry.
