Charles "Chuck" Thornton Strack

Charles Thornton Strack, 77, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on August 2, 2022. He was born on July 4, 1945, the son of Thornton and Alice (Wobser) Strack. He was married to Peggy Strack for 32 years. Chuck served in the Army for 6 years, achieving the rank of E4, then began work for the United Parcel Service (UPS) for 20 years, then Chuck changed his career path and began work for Stylecrest, and finished his career working for D&S Automotive. Chuck attended Mt. Grove Church, where he enjoyed joking with Preacher Black about the Buckeyes. Chuck has an undeniable love of cars, especially Corvettes, and he enjoyed spending time in the Amish country and with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Peggy, Chuck is survived by his brother David Strack and wife Brenda of Castalia, Ohio; his sons: Matthew Gottron and wife Sara of Port Clinton, Ohio; David Young and wife Angie of Lenoir, NC; Kenny Young of Lenoir, NC; and Jennifer Schroeder and husband John of Port Clinton, Ohio. He is survived by his grandchildren: Katie Gang and husband Jay, Allison Schroeder, Jacob Gottron, Natalie Gottron, Emma Gottron, Lynx Cannon, Lexus Westfall and husband Skyler, Makenzie Macchia and husband Brett, and Leiton Young. Chuck, also, leaves behind his great-grandchildren Lucas and Kara Westfall.

There will be a visitation held on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm with services immediately following at Evans Funeral Service, located at 1070 Taylorsville Road SE, Lenoir, NC 28645. Memorial contributions in Chuck’s honor may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
