Charles "Charlie" Evans Hughes Teague

Charles “Charlie” Evans Hughes Teague, 87, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 following a brief illness, surrounded by his family at Wilkes Medical Center under hospice care.

Charlie was born on April 5, 1937 to the late Hiram and Annie Teague.

In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Vertie Teague; brothers, James Benjamin Teague and Hiram James Teague, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Remona Teague (Rob Baldwin); granddaughters, Paisley Magness (Andrew), Victoria Haun (Kaden); great grandchildren, Adelyn, Charlie, Kypton; and numerous other family members, friends and golf buddies.

Charlie was a wonderful husband and father. Charlie had a deep passion for pets, loved his dog, Simon and his resident feline friends that claimed him and gave him great comfort and joy.

A service to honor Charlie’s life will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Deacon Ted Manuel and Elder Pastor Reid Watts officiating in the Chapel of Evans.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans.  Private burial to follow.

The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Christian Church of Lenoir in honor of Charlie.
