Charles Riley Callaway

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Charles “Chuck” Riley Callaway, age 74, of Lenoir, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at his home. Born February 27, 1936 in Atlanta, GA, Chuck was the son of the late Samuel Riley and Anne Geitner Callaway. Mr. Callaway graduated high school from Patterson School for Boys and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a furniture supervisor for Caldwell Furniture, Bernhardt and Hammary.   He was a 33rd degree Mason at the Hibriten Lodge and a member of the Scottish Rites. He is survived by his wife, Jan Melton Callaway; two sons, Christopher Callaway and wife Elizabeth and Michael Callaway and wife Lisa, all of Lenoir and three grandchildren, Lindsay and Ryan Callaway and Joshua Tolbert. A celebration of Mr. Callaway’s life will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, October 14, 2010 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service & Crematory with the Reverend Joe Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
