Carrie Lee Broyhill Hill

Mrs. Carrie Lee Broyhill Hill, daughter of the late Florence Annie Bell Broyhill, was born 1939 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. She attended and graduated as Valedictorian in 1961 from the North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC. Away from the school campus, she spent time with her mother Florence, her siblings, and with her Great Aunt Lillie Broyhill Osborne and husband Ted of Stony Point, NC. Mrs. Hill attended Stony Point Baptist Church. She loved dearly Ted’s Brother Johny Osborne who treated Carrie as one of his own. She went on to marry the late Donald Lee Hill, and settled in Davie County, NC. She loved knitting, crocheting, quilt making, and cooking. Mrs. Hill always held herself with poise and grace, and made every effort to carry a fitting pocketbook or purse. She loved God and felt a close spiritual connection. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Janet Minton Gryder, Jay L. Long, and Barbara Minton Day. Mrs. Broyhill departed this life on Tuesday May 25, 2021 in Iredell County, North Carolina. She is survived by her children Janet Lee Allgood, Donald Jackson Hill and Jeanne Tabatha Hutchens; her five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She is, also, survived by her siblings: Maggie Lewis, Margie Severt, Peggy White, Johnny Minton, Ted Minton and her loving nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Prior to the graveside service, the family will be receiving guests at the chapel of Evans Funeral Service from 11 am until noon.
