Carolyn Swanson

Lenoir, NC- Carolyn Austin Swanson, age 80, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born May 26, 1933 in Caldwell County she was a daughter of the late Ruth McCoy Austin. Other than her mother, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Good, one sister, Margaret Moore and four brothers, Jack, Bill, Joe and Roy Austin. Mrs. Swanson had taught music for over 30 years at the Hudson Child Development Center in Hudson. She will always be remembered for her love of animals. She is survived by a daughter, Lori Harmon and husband Richard of Lenoir; 5 Grandchildren, Carol Mecimore and husband Scott, Amy Jenkins, Jennifer Garrett and husband Drew, Jessica Hall and husband Tracy, Jenny Shatley; 7 Great-Grandchildren, Cody, Drew, Jordan, Jailee, Keaton, Caroline and Anderson; her niece, Debbie Chapman and husband David and her great-nieces, Brooke and her beloved Amy. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends. The family and friends will be having a Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 5:00 PM at the Lenoir Golf Club.
