Hudson, NC- Mrs. Carolyn “Nanny” Faye Ward Causby, age 67, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.Born March 10, 1947 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late James Lewis and Elanor Hunt Ward and the wife of Mr. Roy Ray Causby to whom they had shared 45 years of marriage. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter, Ashley Marie Causby; 1 sister, Betty Starnes and 2 brothers, Sam Ward and Edward Eugene Ward. Mrs. Causby, “Nanny”, enjoyed spending her time with her family.Her Grandbabies and Great-Grandbabies were her joy.Christmas and Thanksgiving were always spent together as well as the 4th of July in Cherokee.She really enjoyed playing Bingo. Other than her husband, she is survived by 2 daughters, Tammy Coffey and husband Daniel of Granite Falls; Elaine Justice and husband Tommy of Hudson; 3 sons, Tim Causby and wife Deb of Hickory; Robert Causby of Newland; Keith Causby and wife Robin of Newland; 5 sisters, Pauline Childers and husband Horace of Lenoir; Kate Armachain of Cherokee; Clara Mae Sullivan and husband Jim of Arizona; Mildred Cook of Granite Falls; Ruby Marshal and husband Robert Cole of Hudson; 1 brother, John “Buster” Ward of South Carolina; 1 sister-in-law, Faye Ward of Cherokee; 10 Grandchildren, Chris Coffey and wife Laura; Christopher Causby; Bryan Causby; Joshua Ford and fiancé Carrie; Joshua Justice and wife Maggie; T.J. Causby, Tony Curtis; Shane Chrisco; Elaine Coffey and fiancé Israel; Christy Causby and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Daniel “Turtle” Wesley Ray Coffey and Mayleigh “May May” Rhiannon Justice. A celebration of Mrs. Causby’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Chaplain John Robbins officiating.The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
