Carolyn "April" Mozella Hackett

We are assembled in respectful memory of Ms. Carolyn “April” Mozella Hackett, 55, who has now passed from labor to reward. She made this transition on Thursday, December 29th, 2022.  April was born on November 12th, 1967. Her death was sudden and unexpected. She was the late daughter of James Luther Hackett, Jr. and Dorothy Ann Hendrix Hackett.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a fiancé, Thomas Ferguson; three sons, Jamian K. Hackett, JaMichael D. Hackett and wife Shea Hackett, Jerelle A. Hackett. Two sisters; Velecia W. Hackett and Shakieta T. Hackett; one nephew; Luther J. Scott, three nieces; Jasmine M. Hackett, Jadence M. Goode, Jaidyn S. Goode; one surviving uncle, Christopher Hendrix one surviving aunt, Josephine Stucky and two grandchildren. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was a joyful, loving mother, and grandmother. The loss of a loved one is one of life’s greatest sorrows. she will long be remembered by her family and friends. Her presence will be missed, but not ever forgotten. Her memory will be with us forever.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Evans Funeral Service Chapel conducted by Pastor Juan Johnson, Pastor Darryl Medley, and Pastor James Wilfong.  Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to service at the funeral home on Saturday.
