Carol Gragg

Carol Jenkins Gragg, 85, of Lenoir passed away on August 11, 2022 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Carol was born in Caldwell County on August 29, 1936 to the late John and Nell Jenkins. She was married to the late Dolph Gragg of Lenoir. Carol attended Lakeview Baptist Church where she served as secretary, treasurer, librarian and various other offices over the years. She was a 1954 graduate of Hudson High School. Carol retired in December 2004 from Bernhardt Furniture where she worked as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed volunteering and serving in several capacities in her community; such services included: serving as president of the Caldwell Memorial Hospital Auxilliary (2011-2015); serving the Business and Professional Women’s Organization of Lenoir on the local, district, and state level; and served as a member of the Granite Falls Business and Professional Women’s Organization. She enjoyed such hobbies as working crossword puzzles, reading and crocheting; she particularly enjoyed crocheting scarves and giving them to friends.

In addition to her husband, Carol is preceded in death by her two brothers: Robert “Bobby” Jenkins of Jefferson, NC and Roger Jenkins of Valdese, NC.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Julie Zoller of Lenoir; son, James Gragg and wife Angie of Lenoir; grandchildren; Sara Zoller; Dylan Gragg; Maggie Gragg; Jennifer Miller and husband, Bill; and Wesley Zoller; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jim Hamby officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service.
