Carol Abernathy

Ms. Carol Ann Abernathy, age 46, of Conover passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Born November 18, 1972 in Caldwell county, Carol was the daughter of William Keith and Nancy P. Price.Carol enjoyed fishing.She will be remembered as Mama C. by many close friends.Carol was also a member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church.She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William Price; her maternal grandparents, John and Carole Porter. In addition to her parents, Carol is also survived by a daughter, Jamie Abernathy of Lawndale; a son, James Abernathy, Jr. of Granite Falls; her fiancé, Benjamin Culbreth of Conover; a brother, Doug Price (wife Melanie) of Happy Valley; her paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Price of Granite Falls; The father of her children, James Abernathy, Sr. of Granite Falls; Carol is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Daniel Buchanan officiating.Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.Serving as pallbearers will be Trevor Aldridge, Brian Culbreth, James Abernathy, Jr., Chad Abernathy, Mike Judd and Arthur Price.
