Carl Turner Mitchell

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Carl Turner Mitchell, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Valdese General Hospital. Mr. Mitchell was born in Caldwell County on March 18, 1944 to the late Edd and Flora Lee Mitchell. He was the husband of Lois Autrey Mitchell, to whom he was married for 48 years. Mr. Mitchell was a dedicated member of South Caldwell Family Worship Center where he served as a dedicated board member and enjoyed serving in the Food Pantry Ministry. He retired from Crown Heritage after 46 years of service. Mr. Mitchell loved the Lord, his family and his church family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Laura (Lori) Gentry and husband, Gary; his son, Scott Mitchell and wife, Kristy; granddaughters, Brandie Yates and husband, Brad, and Jennifer Mitchell; grandsons, Dusty and wife, Kelly and Charlie Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Kassidy Yates; great-grandson, August Mitchell; brother, Robert Mitchell; sisters, Betty Mitchell and Violet Hood; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at South Caldwell Family Worship Center on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 4:00 until 5:30. A celebration of Mr. Mitchell̢۪s life will immediately follow the service at 5:30 PM with Pastor Buford Pennell and Reverend Tommy Booth officiating. Pallbearers for Mr. Mitchell will be: Josh Goforth, David Wilson, Donnie Austin, Tommy Booth, Dusty Mitchell, Charlie Mitchell, Brad Yates, Terry Gilbert.
