Camellia Annette "Sissey" Coffey

Camellia Annette “Sissey” Coffey, 71, of Lenoir, passed away peacefully, Friday January 19th, 2024 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Sissey was born September 14, 1952 to the late Arvil D. Coffey and Iris Dula Coffey. She was a faithful member of Lenoir Pentecostal Holiness Church, and a former employee of Beard Hosiery in Lenoir.

Sissey loved her Lord and Savior and worshiping Him was the joy of her life. She lived out her faith and it was by her example and testimony that all of her children came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It was her heart’s desire for all of her children and Grandchildren to also come to know Christ, and live for Him.

Sissey was a loving Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She loved cooking and feeding others. You never walked away without a hug, and “just one little kiss.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen E. Coffey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Angie Coffey, and sons Shannon Coffey and wife April, Danny Hendrix and wife Holly, all of Lenoir.  Chad Hendrix and wife Erin, of Hudson, and Brad Hendrix and wife Jennifer of Gladys, Virginia, 10 Grandchildren, Chasidy Coffey, Dylan and Emma Coffey, Danielle and Isaiah Hendrix, Iseral, Natalie and Liam Hendrix, and Caleb and Kaylee Hendrix, 2 Great Grandchildren, Gabriel and Laikelynn Bryant, and one Sister, Brenda C. Melton of Lenoir.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, especially Dr. McGuire, David Guthrie and Cathy Quigley, for the exceptional care and outstanding support they provided.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Lenoir Pentecostal Holiness Church, 683 Abington Road, Lenoir, NC.

Rev. Tim Elliott and Rev. Brad Hendrix will officiate. Internment will immediately follow at Laytown Baptist Church Cemetery, 6225 Laytown Road, Lenoir, NC. The family will receive visitors from 1:00-2:00 PM, at the church, prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Hendrix, Brad Hendrix, Dylan Coffey, Caleb Hendrix, Iseral Hendrix, and Isaiah Hendrix.
