Byron Timothy Rice

Granite Falls- Mr. Byron Timothy Rice, age 57, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born February 20, 1954, in Caldwell County, Byron was a son of the late, Lewis Eugene and Mary Ross Rice. Byron was a Christian by faith and had worked a number of years in textiles. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael James Rice. Survivors include his wife Julia Munday Rice of the Home; a son and daughter in law, Byron Timothy Rice, Jr., wife Sarah; a sister and brother in law, Brenda Bumgarner, husband Tom; three brothers and sisters in law, Ronald Clifton Rice, wife Shirley, Joe Meek Rice, wife Jody, and Mark Andrew Rice, wife Tanya; a sister in law, Jill Rice; a grandson, Ethan Alexander Rice; Byron is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Byron?s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Freedom Independent Baptist Church.
