Cajah?s Mountain Community, Lenoir, NC- Brenda Jayne Jenkins Jones ?Bren?, 62, no longer earth bound, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Brenda was surrounded by loved ones during her last days, while being greeted lovingly by her eternal family. Brenda was a dear and loving wife, mother, nana, mamaw, sister and friend to all that was afforded the opportunity to encounter her bubbling personality, smile and vivacious laugh. She shared 8 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Ed. Together they traveled, enjoying life as long as her health allowed. Brenda was retired from the NC Department of Correction, Division of Prisons, having worked in several areas of law enforcement prior. The life Brenda lived revolved around spending time with family and friends. An early morning telephone call, voicemail, email or some other serendipitous encounter filled her days with joy. Brenda now joins her parents John F. Jenkins and Essie Lowe Jenkins; her son, Eddie Dean Williams and two loving brothers, Tom and John Henry Jenkins. Surviving family members are husband, Ed; son, Kenneth (Kenny) Williams; grandsons, Dustin Williams, and Eddie Williams Jr., all of Lenoir; sister, Linda ?Lin? Jenkins Eller and her husband Homer of the Cricket community of Wilkes County; brothers, Charlie Jenkins and wife Joyce of Kings Creek, and Bob Jenkins and wife Peggy of Oak Hill; along with several nieces and nephews. Lending a helping hand to those in need was what made her the person we all love. These deeds fueled her body and her spirit, and in turn she developed lifelong relationships. Such encounters with others resulted in lifelong friendships; in turn these friends also became a part of her larger family circle. We want to thank God for this short time we all were able to know and enjoy Brenda. She will be missed more than words could ever express. A celebration of Brenda?s life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 18, 2009 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Steve Butler officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 PM in the Parker Cemetery in the Brushy Mtn. Community of Wilkes County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 until 11 AM, one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff at The Shaire Center in Lenoir. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Ronald DuBow, nurses ? Jacqueline Washburn, Sharon, Shannon, Sassha and Melody, Paula, Marla and all the staff at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Likewise, the loving care provided by Hospice including Chaplain Steve Butler, Jessica, Nancy and Kim will forever be remembered.
