Brenda Clark Crowe

Brenda Clark Crowe, 67 of Lenoir, passed away at Wake Forest Medical Center on May 25, 2012. She was born in Lenoir on June 9, 1944 to the late Theodore R Clark Sr. and Cordie Berry Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Emory D. Clark, Douglas Clark and the Rev. Theodore R. Clark, Jr. all of Burke County. Mrs. Crowe is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ted C. Crowe, one son V. Alan. Crowe, two daughters Kathy C. Kent and husband Bill Kent, Jr. of Lenoir, and Karen L. Huffman and husband Randy D. Huffman of Lenoir; six grandchildren Kathryn Kent, Kaylen Kent, William Kent III, Blake Greene, Emily Greene and Gracie Huffman; one step grand-daughter Jessica Huffman and one step great grand-daughter Arianna Grubbs. Mrs. Crowe is also survived by two sisters Lois Arney and Joyce LeFevre both of Lenoir. Mrs. Crowe graduated from Gamewell High School in 1962. Mrs. Crowe’s family was the love of her life. Her life was devoted to the care of her children, grandchildren and especially her son, Alan and husband, Ted. She was unselfish and loved to give to others. Mrs. Crowe’s smile brightened every room she entered. Mrs. Crowe was currently employed as a sales representative for the Bernhardt Furniture Outlet. Mrs. Crowe worked for many years in furniture sales at Stevens Furniture Company and Quality Furniture Company in Lenoir, and Boyles Furniture in Hickory. For 12 years, Mrs. Crowe and her husband Ted ran Crowe’s Superette on Morganton Blvd in Lenoir. Mrs. Crowe was a member of Hartland Baptist Church where she was a member of the adult choir and enjoyed singing special music during worship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Hartland Baptist Church, 3730 Hartland Road, Morganton, North Carolina 28655. A celebration of Mrs. Crowe’s life will be held at Hartland Baptist Church in Morganton at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 28, 2012. Burial will follow at Hartland Baptist Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of Hartland Baptist Church prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
