Boyd Wilson Marley

Boyd Wilson Marley, 75, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Boyd was born on February 2, 1949, to the late Woodrow and Elizabeth Marley.

In addition to his parents, Boyd is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Swanson Marley; sister, Annie Sue Marley; brothers, Junior, Tommy, Billy Joe, Robert, Dee, Grover, Bobby, and Clayton.

Those left to cherish Boyd’s memory are his daughter, Sandy Starnes (Wes); grandchildren, Zack Starnes, Hannah Starnes Strayer (Teddy); sisters, Nina Beavers, Ethel Greene (Danel); brother, Richard Marley; sister-in-laws, LouElla Marley, Virigie Marley and numerous nieces and nephews.

When Boyd was younger, he enjoyed watching Nascar, wrestling, and going roller skating.  As Boyd got older, he still enjoyed watching westerns and reality shows. Boyd was known to go to car shows, flea markets, and swap meets.  His hobbies was buying cars, trading cars, and selling cars. Boyd was good at “piddling”, he could fix anything and was a collector of “stuff” especially knives and watches.

There will be a service to honor Boyd’s life on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans.  Burial will follow at Marley Family Cemetery: 326 Obie Green Road, Ferguson, NC 28624.

The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Amorem Hospice, 526 Pine Mountain Road, Hudson NC 28638.
