Bobby Jones Lenoir –Robert ‘Bobby” Edward Jones, age 78, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care in Hudson.He was born in Caldwell County on February 13, 1936 to the late Nathaniel Jones and Beulah Anderson Jones. Bobby moved to Columbus, OH in 1954 and later moved back to Lenoir in 2005. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert Lee Jones, Charles Jones, Archie Ray Jones, and Tasco Jones; sisters, Mabel Link, Dorothy Gray, Annie Mae Horton, Bernice Hendrix and Inez Fox. He is survived by his niece, Carla Black, who he became very close with while in Columbus; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Jones and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Paul Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
