Bobby Dean Duncan

Hickory, NC- Mr. Bobby Dean Duncan, age 68, of Hickory, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born April 9, 1943 in Mitchell County, Mr. Duncan was a son of the late Earl and Margie Willis Duncan and the husband of Mrs. Betty Jo Pritchard Duncan of Lenoir. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Hart, 3 sisters, Linda Sue Wilson, Ruby Gouge, Mae Willis and 2 brothers, William Duncan and Scott Duncan. Surviving other than his wife are three children, Darin Whittington of Sawmills, Terry Whittington of Greensboro, Kim Dula and husband Randy of Lenoir, 3 sisters, Jean Blevins of Hildebran, Gayle Anderson of Grace Chapel, Melba Abernathy of Spruce Pine, 3 brothers, Gray Duncan and Phil Duncan, both of Spruce Pine, Wade Duncan of Granite Falls, 7 grandchildren, Kaylan Dula, Ben Dula, Devin Whittington, Savannah Whittington, Jacob Whittington, Charlton Hilton, Adam McGuire and one great-grandchild, Matthew McGuire. A celebration of Mr. Duncan’s life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 10, 2011 at First Baptist Church-Whitnel with Reverend Stuart White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.
