Blane Aldridge

January 9, 1958 — December 1, 2019

Blane E. Aldridge, age 61, went home to be in the arms of his Father on December 1, 2019 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Catawba County on January 9, 1958 to the late Dallas and Lois Perry Aldridge. He was married to Debra Street Aldridge of the residence for 33 years. Blane was owner and operator of Aldridge Landscaping and Lawn Care for more than 36 years and shared his licensed expertise by teaching his fellow landscapers through his classes. He was a member of Lower Creek Baptist for 31 years, where he served in many different capacities, including Chairman of Deacons and Sunday School teacher. He served with the Caldwell County Prison Ministries and was instrumental in starting the Angel Tree Ministry there. He was on the local North Carolina Baptist Board and was also a Gideon. Blane loved to fish and was a member Carolina Team Tournaments. In addition to his wife, Blane is survived by his daughter, Katelyn Aldridge; grandson, Jayden Barnette and granddaughter, Azariah Barnette; brothers, Marvin Aldridge and wife, Carla; Stephen Aldridge and wife, Kelly; Lawrence Aldridge and wife, Teresa; sister, Wanda Smith and husband, Eugene; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A celebration of Blane’s life will be held at Lower Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 12:30 PM with Pastor Larry Gilbreath and Pastor Don Ingle officiating. The family with receive friends from 11:00 until 12:30 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852; Lower Creek Baptist Church House and Grounds Fund, 633 Lower Creek Drive, Lenoir, NC 28645; or Gideons of Caldwell County, P.O.
