Blanche Irene Reid

Blanche Irene Reid, 97, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away on December 19, 2023. Blanche was born on October 17, 1926, in Lenoir to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McRary. She was a God-fearing woman who loved her family and her church, Union Baptist Church.

Blanche had a successful career, working as a secretary at Oak Hill Elementary School for 28 years. Prior to that, she worked at Bernhardt Seagle Hardware. Blanche received her education from Oak Hill School and Oak Hill High School.

In her free time, Blanche enjoyed various hobbies including sewing, reading, and working in her flower gardens. She found joy and solace in these activities.

Blanche will be deeply missed by her loved ones. She is survived by her sister, Betsy McRee; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Steve Hollar; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Regina Reid; daughter and friend, Sandra Reid Coffey and Phil LaFevres.

Granddaughter and husband, Suzanne and Chad Bolick; grandson, Bradley Hollar; grandson and wife, Clint and Jenny Coffey; grandson and wife, AJ and Leslie Reid; granddaughter and husband, Allison and Chris Anders; granddaughter and husband, Holly and Chubby Edwards and grandson, Dustin Mitchell.

As well as 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Blanche was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Reid, sister Shirley Sims, brother Odell McRary, and her grandson Lyle Coffey.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Aryn, Maggie, and Sharon for their exceptional care and attention provided to Blanche and the family by Amorem.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Union Baptist Church. A service to celebrate Blanche's life will be held at Union Baptist Church on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 2:30 PM with Reverend Mark Robinette officiating.
