Billy Ray Triplett

Lenoir - Mr. Billy Ray Triplett, age 85, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.Born June 17, 1929 in Caldwell County, Mr. Triplett was a son of the late Charles Monroe and Ida Greene Triplett and the husband of the late Betty Ward Triplett. Other than his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Doug Triplett. Mr. Triplett was a loving husband, father and grandfather, known for being a hard working man.He had retired as materials manager with Lenoir Furniture Corporation.He was a member of Miller Hill Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and music director for more than 50 years. He is survived by his three children, Larry Triplett and wife Brenda of Hudson; Lorrie Spencer and husband Joe of Lenoir; Lisa Grimley and husband Bill of Granite Falls; 4 sisters, Joan Houk and husband Camuel of Lenoir; Ruth Daye of Morganton; Sue Smith of Hudson; Judy Farmer of Lenoir; 5 grandchildren, Toni Sain, Amanda Hartley, Lesley Spencer, Rebecca Spencer, Emily Spencer; 4 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Hayley, Benjamin and Adam.He is also survived by a special aunt, Christine Hoyle and husband James of Asheville and his very special friend, Helen Craig of Lenoir. A service celebrating the life of Mr. Triplett will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Miller Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Walsh and Reverend Michael McKee officiating.Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Gene Bryson, Tom Byerly, George Hamby, David Pope, Alan Smith and Jim Watson.Honorary Pallbearers will be J.W. Crouse, Camuel Houk, Herb Howell and Jerry Setzer.
