Billy Ray Gibbons

Bill Gibbons, 76, of Hudson passed away on February 12, 2021 at his residence. Bill was born on June 2, 1944 to the late Herman and Thelma Gibbons in Guilford County. Bill was married to Becky Gibbons for 15 years. Bill was a retired North Carolina State Trooper. Bill was a member of Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church of Lenoir. Bill was a musician that played upright bass, bass, guitar, mandolin, banjo, and dobro among many other instruments. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur Gibbons. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his son, Terry Gibbons, and his daughter, Tammey Ward. Bill is survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be a private service held in Bill’s honor at a later date.
