Billy Gene Barnes

Lenoir – Billy Gene Barnes, age 75, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on September 23, 1942 to the late Ezekiel Barnes and Cordelia Gragg Barnes. Billy spent his entire work career in the furniture industry. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his friends and family. Billy loved serving the Lord and showed his family how to live by setting the example himself. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Barnes; and his grandson, Allen Paul Barnes. Billy is survived by his son, Allen Barnes and wife, Charlene; daughter, Shelia Deiotte, and husband, Gerry; grandchildren, Brittany Townsend, Megan Ritzman and Erin Deiotte; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Townsend and Kaily Townsend; and brother, Jesse Barnes. A graveside service for Billy will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating.
