Billie Jean (Byrd) Dula, 75, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019, after a brief illness. Billie was a native of Buncombe County, but spent most of her life in Caldwell County, where she worked and raised her family. Billie had a wonderful sense of humor and personality, and she is greatly loved and missed by her family. During her career, Billie worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company, the Caldwell County Board ofEducation, and Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Dula, her parents George and Eileen Byrd, and her brother Bobby Lee Byrd. Survivors include her brother Howard Benton (Mickey) Byrd of Lenoir, and her children: Terri (Lynch) Bernhardt and husband Matt of Salisbury and Beech Mountain; Michelle (Lynch) Troutman and husband LTC (Ret) Tim Troutman of Sanford; Jamie Lynch and wife Kenia (Coffey) of Hillsborough; Kim (Dula) Powell and husband Scotty of Woodleaf; Jerri “JJ” (Dula) Batey and husband Rusty of Savannah, and her grandchildren Lauren Triplett, Kaylan (Lindecamp) Durham, Dalton Culp, Cpl Cole Lynch, Cody Powell, Grace Troutman, Clayton Culp and great-grandchild Paisley Durham, all of whom loved their “Nana” greatly. There are no services scheduled at this time. However, memorials may be made tothe American Lung Association.
