BILLIE RAY DEAL  Sawmills - NC Mr. Billie Ray Deal, 66, went home to be with his Lord and savior Friday, August 17, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center .He was born October 27, 1945 in Caldwell County to the late Jake Deal and Glennie “Harris” Deal. Mr. Deal was a retired business man, former owner of The Chat-n-Chew restaurant, The Seafood Harbor Fish camp and Hoffman’s Fish Camp in Icard N.C. Mr. Deal has also been a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church since 1951.Mr. Deal was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in Vietnam. He was also widely known and respected as a fisherman, hunter and BBQ chef. But his most honorable achievement, the one he was most proud of, was to have been the recipient of the coveted Father of the Year Award in 1980.In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his brother David Lee Deal, sister Georgia Elizabeth Deal, daughters Chaney Star Story and April Carey Cooper grandson Jonny Mc George and granddaughter Summer Rose Deal. Mr. Deal is survived by his wife, Vicky Deal of the home.Eight children and their husbands and wives; David Deal and wife Jean, Paul Deal and wife Debra, Daniel Deal and wife Martha, Jacob Deal and wife Amanda. Mary”Sissy” Deal Williams and husband Danny,Christina Carey Eyler and Freda Carey Baker; 24 grand children Joshua, Sarah, Brandi, Katie, Jessica, Alyssa, Kimberly, Lillian, Jacob, Christen, Dustin ,Tanner, Brooke, Timothy, David, Shonna. Zackery, Carol Ann, Ben, Joey, Jacob Jr,  Jacoby, Ashton and Jordyn. Also 3 great grand children Hunter,Makaylee and Elijah. We would also like to have special recognition to Mr. Deal’s lifelong friend Barry Holland.  Services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Cajahs Mt Rd. Hudson, NC at 4 PM with Pastor Ed Warren and Pastor Robert Setzer officiating.  Receiving of friends will be Monday, August 20 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service from 6Pm to 7:30 Pm. The family will also be receiving family and friends at 4619 Helton rd. (Home of Dan And Martha Deal).
