Billie Jo Clark

Billie Jo Clark Hudson, NC- Mrs. Billie Jo Clark, age 78, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County on August 22, 1935 to the late Jacob Terrell Joplin and Effie Sumpter Joplin. She was married to Mack Clark of the home for 57 years.  Mrs. Clark retired from the North Carolina Transportation Bridge Division where she worked as an administrative assistant for 30 years. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mom Violet Ruth Stone Joplin; and her brother, Johnny Terrell Joplin. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Terry Clark and wife, Jennifer; grandsons, Zach Clark and wife, Emily; and Ethan Clark; brothers, Samuel C. Joplin of Hudson; Maynard V. Joplin of Hudson; Larry K. Joplin and wife, Donna of Hudson; Dwight L. Joplin and wife, Sheila of Hudson; Reverend Harold D. Joplin and wife, Carolyn of Granite Falls; James R. Joplin and wife, Patricia of Lenoir; D. Ray Joplin and wife, Cathy of Hudson; David S. Joplin and wife, Tyra of Hudson; sisters, Jean C. Joplin Sherrill and husband, Bill of Conover; and A. Faye Joplin of Hudson. A celebration of Mrs. Clark’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Lonnie Bell officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
