Bill Williams

Mr. Bill Dean Williams, age 88, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019, at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Born January 9, 1931, in Catawba County, Bill was a son of the late Roy Preston and Ada Mae Clark Williams.Bill had worked many years as a personnel manager with Bernhardt Furniture Company.He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1954.Bill was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, James Harry Williams, Verne Richard Williams and Floyd Lee “Flop” Williams. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Ballard Williams; a daughter, Emelyne Carol Williams; a son, Gary Miller Williams (wife Debbie) of Oak Ridge, NC; brothers, Alvin Nelson Williams (wife Betty Jean), Jay Brent “J.B.” Williams (wife Jenny) and Johnny Allen Williams; a sister, Linda Williams Walker; a granddaughter, Rebecca Williams and two great granddaughters, Lunah and Evelynn, of Greensboro, NC; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Chuck Brawley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
