Bill Pipkins Jr.

Oscar William “Bill” Pipkins Jr., age 89, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on June 11, 2023. Bill was born December 11, 1933 to the late Oscar William Pipkins Sr. and Ellie Few. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca Taylor Pipkins; daughters, Elizabeth Pipkins Hancock (husband, Lloyd), Virginia Pipkins Navarro (husband, Bob) and Catherine Pipkins Gibbons; son, William Gilmore “Gil” Pipkins (wife, Jennifer); seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bill was a graduate of University of South Carolina and worked for Duke Power Company for twenty years. He then worked as a private pilot and flight instructor at Bill’s Flight School. He was an active member at First United Methodist Church of Lenoir; serving on the administrative board, as a Sunday school teacher, and active in the prison ministry. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2:00PM at First United Methodist Church of Lenoir. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Lenoir at 309 Church St. NW Lenoir, North Carolina 28645.
