Bh Swanson

Lenoir, NC- Mr. BH Swanson, Jr., age 86, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born in Caldwell County on June 30, 1925 to the late B. Haywood Swanson and Viola R. Swanson. He was married to Ruby Walsh Swanson of the home for 64 years. Mr. Swanson was a graduate of Hudson High School and attended Lenoir-Rhyne College and Clevengers Business College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having proudly served aboard the USS De Long during World War II. Mr. Swanson was a life-long resident of Caldwell County and was a member of Lower Creek Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Lenoir Trading Post for over 40 years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah House; infant brother, Lewis Lynn Swanson; and son, Jeffrey (Jeff) Greg Swanson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Debra (Debbie) Marley and husband, Boyd of Baton; brother, Gene A. Swanson and wife, Maxine of Hickory; sister, Mrs. Jay (Christine) Gentry of Lenoir; sister, Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Conyers of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Heather and Holly Swanson; and four great-grandchidren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
