Betty J Woody

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Betty Jean Pittman Woody, age 81, of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born February 11, 1931 in Lancaster, SC, Betty was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Casky Pittman. Betty attended the Miracle Church in Lenoir and had retired from Red River Mills after working numerous years. Betty had graduated from Bible College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Leon Woody; and one brother, J.R. Pittman. Survivors include three sons and daughters in law, Johnny Micheal Woody of Fort Mill, SC, Wendell Leon Woody, wife Connie, of Lenoir, Donald James Woody, wife Cathy Herring, of Rock Hill, SC; three brothers and sisters in law, Ira Pittman, wife Faye Ann, Fred Pittman, wife Patricia, both from Rock Hill, SC, and Robert Pittman of California; she is also survived by eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill, SC with Pastor Tim Sutter officiating.
