Betty Jo Walsh Cresson

Lenoir, NC-   Mrs. Betty Jo Walsh Cresson, age 84, passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 18, 2011. She was born in Caldwell County on November 2, 1926 to the late Roy P. and  Dorcas Griffie Walsh. She was married to Ned Cresson of the home for over 60 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by several of her brothers and sisters.  Other than her husband, she is survived by her sister, Sarah Walsh Newhart of Tully, NY and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. A celebration of Mrs. Cresson’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 3:00 PM with Reverend Steve Butler officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Steve Byrd, Chris and Jonathan Spears; and Benny, Carl and Gary Walsh. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Cresson’s caretaker and niece, Linda Spears, and to the staff at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care for the exceptional care they have given.
