Betty Jean Summerow

Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Betty Jean Phillips Summerow, age 77, of Lenoir, entered into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday July 29, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice, Robbins Center in Hudson, NC. Jean was a born again child of God and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Pansy Phillips. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 34 years, William Davis “Bill” Summerow , and her brother, Billy Joe Phillips. Survivors include her sons, Lewis “Bo” Summerow and wife, Brenda, David Summerow and Dale Summerow; daughters Joyce Summerow Rector and husband, Lloyd, Sharon Summerow Blackden and husband, Eric; two sisters, Virginia Butler and Zella Schronce; her half siblings, Kathleen Phillips, Judy Phillips , Thula Phillips, J.D. Phillips, Albert Phillips, Beno Phillips, Kenny Phillips and her step mother, Annie Mae Phillips; her grandchildren, Chris Summerow, Nicole Summerow-Mosley, Tony Summerow, Julie Summerow, Amber Summerow, Justin Summerow, Michael Summerow, Daniel Summerow, Jordan Summerow; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services for Mrs. Summerow will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service & Crematory on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 12:00 Noon with Preacher Wayne May officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 to 12:00.
