Betty Fox Storie

Lenoir, NC – Mrs.  Betty Fox Storie, age 84, of Lenoir, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born September 30, 1928 in Burke County, Betty was a daughter of the late Kermit and Ida Freeman Fox. She was Baptist by faith and a member or the Flemings Chapel Baptist Church. Betty worked for Southern Bell Phone Company for 36 years where she was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Betty enjoyed playing scrabble, playing card games, spending time with her grand children and great grandchildren and camping. Betty will be remembered as a mom to so many people and as a lady who enjoyed giving to people. She always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Campbell and Josephine Freeman. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William Earl Storie of the Home; three children, Sherry Norman, husband Stu Cotner, of Asheville, Sandra Storie Williams of Lenoir, and Larry Storie, wife Pat, of Hudson; one sister, Jonnie Williams of Morganton; one brother, Kermit Fox, Jr., wife Anita, of Morganton; three grandchildren, Chris Davis, wife Amy, Willie Storie, wife Crystal, Annie Deal, husband William; seven great grandchildren, Austin Davis, Colby Davis, Brock Davis, Ava Deal, Ivy Deal, Bryson Storie and Zeke Storie; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Flemings Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Shoffner and Reverend David Orders officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
