Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Betty Marie Richmond Suddreth, age 77, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at Gateway Nursing Center. Born July 20, 1929 in Coal City, West Virginia, Mrs. Suddreth was the wife of John Paul (J.P.) Suddreth of Lenoir and a daughter of the late Owen Obey and Hallie Marie Terry Richmond. Mrs. Suddreth was a member of Cale?s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Coal City, W.VA and locally attended Crestview Baptist Church and Zack?s Fork Baptist Church. Mrs. Suddreth had worked in retail at Roses, Woolworth, Fairvalue, K-Mart and Fred?s Dept. Store. Other than her husband, she is survived by 3 sons: Michael Paul Suddreth and wife Barbara of Morganton; Brian Keith Suddreth of Drexel; Kevin Scott Suddreth and wife Cindy of Lenoir; one daughter-in-law, Sonya Suddreth of Hickory, 1 grandson, Sgt. Michael Campbell of Fort Bragg; 4 granddaughters, April Lynn Dye and husband Patrick of Lenoir; Heather Michelle Dye of Lenoir; Kathrine Marie Suddreth of Morganton; Chelsea Allyson Philyaw of Lenoir; 2 brothers, Frank D. Richmond and wife Carol of Houston, TX; Everece (Ace) Richmond and wife Pat of Gahana, OH; Step-sister, Sylvia Rennick of Kings Mountain, NC; two great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Lea Suddreth, her son, David Wayne Suddreth, her first husband, Charles Shrewsbury; and two brothers, Minyard and Manford Richmond. Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Hartley Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jobie Borders officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir and at other times at 813 Severt Circle, Lenoir.
