Betty Lee Raye Sheets

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Betty Lee Raye Sheets, age 68, of Lenoir, passed away at her residence on February 9, 2009.  Born April 17, 1940, Betty was a daughter of the late Lee and Cleo Wilcox Raye. She was a homemaker and had attended Hibriten Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia Baker; Four sisters, Bonnie Sheets, Wilma Woods, Georgia Bledsoe, and Lorene McMillion; and one brother, Lonnie Raye. Mrs. Sheets is survived by her husband of 47 years, Fred L. Sheets of the home; Five daughters and sons in law, Tammy and Jessie Harrold of Lenoir, Sherry and Douglas Turner of Lansing, NC, Donna and Gary West of Gamewell, Brenda and Vic Coffey of Lenoir, and Christy and Richie Freeman of Gamewell ; One brother, Wade Raye of Marivan Falls, NC; Two sisters, Carol Raye of North Wilkesboro, and Ruby Greer of Boone; Eight grandchildren, Eric Harrold, Terry Harrold, April Turner, Heather Turner, Leslie West, Berina Coffey, Cameron Freeman, and Bretta Freeman; One great grandson, Adam Harrold; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of life for Mrs. Sheets will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Hibriten Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Doug Cox. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Interment will be in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
