Betty Jo Pritchard Duncan

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Betty Jo Pritchard Duncan, age 75, of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Shaire Center in Lenoir. Born September 26, 1936 in Raleigh County, WV, Betty was a daughter of the late Jack and Retha Wills Pritchard. She worked for the Caldwell County School System for a number of years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Dean Duncan; daughter, Lisa Hart and infant daughter, Sharon Whittington; and her sisters, Wanda Ritch and Helen Haynes. Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Kim and Randy Dula of Lenoir; two sons, Darin Whittington of Sawmills and Terry Whittington of Lenoir; seven grandchildren, Kaylan Dula, Ben Dula, Devin Whittington, Savannah Whittington, Jacob Whittington, Charlton Hilton and Adam McGuire; great grandson, Matthew McGuire; great granddaughter, Neveah Whittington brothers, Jack Pritchard, Bill Pritchard, Curtis Pritchard, and Tom Pritchard; sisters, Ruth Johnson, Eleanor Hollar, Daphney Weaver, Pat Parham and Lora Davis; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Betty?s life will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Whitnel at 3:00 PM with Reverend Stuart White officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Pritchard, Bob McCarty, David Clark, Clark Hollar, Cody Pritchard, and Chad Brown. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00. Memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
