Ms. Betty Jean (Wilson) Anderson passed from this life to her eternal rest on August 4, 2020, after a heroic battle with cancer. She was, affectionately, known by Ms. Betty, “BJ”, “Betts” and to her grandchildren, “Nena”. Betty was born in McVeytown, Pennsylvania to Robert Blaine Wilson and Marian Jane (Wilson) Kline on July 25, 1953. She graduated from West Snyder High School in Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania in 1971. While Betts was the first female admitted into the local vocational technology program, she decided to attend Empire Beauty School in Lewistown. She worked for the State of Pennsylvania, co-owned All-City Towing in Denver, Colorado, and retired, after 23 years, as a switchboard operator for the Nebraska National Guard in Lincoln, Nebraska. BJ married James Anderson Jr. and their union blessed them with one of the greatest joys of her life, their daughter, Jamie. Her quiver became full and complete in her role as grandmother to Ga’Kiaya and Daison. Betty enjoyed shopping, reading, spending time with her family and friends, and traveling to the beach. She was known for her vibrant personality, contagious laugh, and tenacious spirit. Betty loved the Lord and her church families at Cornerstone Summit in Boone, North Carolina, and most recently, Waterlife Church in Lenoir, North Carolina, Betts is preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Jane (Wilson) Leister and infant daughter Marian Louise Anderson. Those left to cherish her memories include her brothers Dwaine Wilson (Shelby); James Wilson (Lou Ann); and Tim Kline (Deb); James Anderson Jr; daughter, Jamie Parson; son-in-law, Dontrell Parson; granddaughter, Ga'Kiaya and grandson, Daison. BJ left loving and beautiful memories etched in the lives of many extended family and friends. A memorial service celebrating Betty's life will be held at Waterlife Church in Lenoir, North Carolina on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 11:00 am EST, with Pastor Todd Braswell officiating.
