Betty Ann Harris

November 3, 1949 — March 16, 2024

Betty Ann Harris, 74, of Granite Falls, NC passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Betty was born on November 3rd, 1949 in Smyth County, Virginia to Alvin and Dorothy Lineberry.

She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart of 51 years, Jerry William Harris, as well as both parents. Betty is survived by her 3 children, Russell Harris and wife Janice; Wendy Pyle and husband Tracy and Cendy Harris, all of Lenoir, NC. Betty has 2 wonderful grandchildren who were the light of her life, Lauryn Harris of Lenoir, NC and Joshua Pyle and fiancé Chase Treadway of Granite Falls, NC. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Harris and husband Allen of Hudson, NC, and brother, David Lineberry and wife Carolyn of Liberty, NC. Betty also leaves behind her wonderful loving companion, Archie Seagle of Hudson, NC, who brought much joy and happiness to her life. They enjoyed many fun adventures and celebrations during their almost 10 years together. Betty will also be forever missed by her fur baby Snoopy. Betty also has 2 wonderful nephews who were like son’s to her, Craig Harris and wife Melanie (children Kelcey and Lauralee) as well as Jason Harris and wife Lee (children Mary Nora and Adam) all of Roseboro, NC. In addition, Betty was loved dearly by many other close family members, friends and neighbors.

Betty loved Jesus more than anything and and was active in her church and community. She was known for her infectious laugh and hilarious new-word creations. She was always smiling and would light up any room. She loved camping, trips to the beach, music and picnics in the mountains. She also loved working in her yard and making homemade gravy and biscuits for her grandkids.

The family will received friends at Dry Ponds Baptist Church, located at 5235 Union Church Rd, Granite Falls, NC on Sunday, March 24th from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm with funeral to follow. Family will also receive friends and flowers anytime at the home of Tracy and Wendy Pyle of 1331 Brandon Rd, Lenoir, NC. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her pastor, Rob Evans, for his outstanding love, support and many visits.

They would also like to thank the staff at Catawba Valley Medical Center and Adoration Home Health Care for the wonderful care provided to their mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org.
