Betty Greene

Betty Greene, 54, of Rhodhiss, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Betty was born in Catawba County to Walter Levine Sessoms and Katie Louise Roberts. Betty worked most of her life in the furniture industry until earning her GED in 1999 and continuing on to earn her CNA, CNA2 and her Phlebotomy Licenses in 2007 at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute. She was a loving, selfless and caring woman that always thought of others before herself. Everyone that met her instantly loved her. Betty was preceded in death by her father Walter Levine Sessoms of Rockingham, NC in 2016. She is survived by her husband Tim Greene, grandchildren Kayla Beatrice Leal Hernandez and Alexander Allen Leal Hernandez of the home, her mother Katie Louise Roberts of Newton, her daughter Christina Louise Leal Hernandez of Hickory, two sisters Sharon Kay Ray of Newton and Charlotte Ann Icard (Tim) of Longview, brother Walter Levine Sessoms Jr. of Sawmills and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty had several close friends that meant the world to her. In lieu of flowers and memorials the family would like all donations be sent to the Icard Fire Department.
