Betty Ann Edwards Darnell

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Betty Edwards Darnell, age 70, of 539 Circle Drive, Hudson, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born April 2, 1936 in Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Darnell was a daughter of the late Clayburn Hampton and Janie Richardson Edwards and the wife of the late Marion L. Darnell, Sr. Mrs. Darnell was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and had worked in the Pineville Elementary School. She is survived by three daughters, Sherry Flowe and husband Curtis of Lancaster, SC; Peggy Stevens and husband Robert of Hudson; Renee Adams and husband Barry of Fort Mill, SC; one son, MSGT Marion Lee Darnell, Jr. and wife Tonya of Camp Lejune, NC; three brothers, Reverend Clay H. Edwards and wife Janice of Wingate; William H. Edwards and wife Jeanette of Charlotte; Jim Edwards and wife Judy of Richmond, Virginia; 8 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Other than husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 6 until 9 PM at the home of Robert and Peggy Stevens, 539 Circle Drive, Hudson.
