Mrs. Betty Gwyn Dula, age 83, of Lenoir, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born February 19, 1933 in Wilkes, Betty was the daughter of the late Bud Landon and Etoy Ferguson Lipford. She was the Clerk of Session at her church for 15 years. She was an elder and usher along with being a Sunday School teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lipford; a daughter, Marcheta Dula and a son, Curtis Dula, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Curtis Wadsworth Dula of the home; two daughters, Yvette Smith (husband Clarence) of Statesville, and Pamela Morrison (husband Herbert) of Statesville; daughter in law, Ana of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Jamila Simpson( husband Clarence), Hakeem Smith (wife Julia), Sean Smith, Herbert Morrison, Jr., Kristy Morrison, Catalina and Nicolas Ramos Gomez; five sisters, two brothers, five great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2016 2:00 PM at Dulatown Presbyterian Church with Pastor Terry Hunt officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Dulatown Presbyterian Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
